... . In the tenth story of the fifth day it is said, " a woman is always ready for a man, but not vice-versa. What's more one woman could exhaust many men, whereas many men can't exhaust one woman (432-435)." The tenth story of the third day somewhat hilariously illustrates the attempts of a man to quench the desire of women by saying that it is "like chucking a bean into the mouth ... of a lion (278)." It is also apparent in the narrative that there are different thoughts about the creation of sexual relationships than those that exist today. It seems ... to me that in The Decameron there...
