             Throughout history there have only been a few people who's accomplishments and legacy has impacted our society. One of these very few people is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The accomplishments and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has impacted my life and society.
             Martin Luther King's contributions to our history place him in a one and only position. No one in history has impacted more lives over the civil rights movement than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Throughout his career he pushed for equal treatment and improved circumstances for blacks by organizing nonviolent protests and delivering powerful speeches on the importance of getting rid of racial discrimination. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. came upon fame when he came to the assistance of Rosa Parks who was the women who refused to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery bus to a White passenger in Montgomery, Alabama. In those days American Blacks were restricted to sit in the front of the bus. People who would not obey this law were beat, put into prison, or even killed sometimes. .
             Martin Luther King, Jr. has impacted our society in many ways. He showed us the way to move on and rebuild our society rather than to destroy it. He showed us that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it. Martin Luther King, Jr. led campaign after campaign because he was determined to secure change. Martin Luther King, Jr. represents courage, achievement, and leadership. Because of Martin Luther King, Jr. Black Americans are now able to vote, sit wherever they want, be in the same place as White Americans, house wherever they want and many other things. He was able and ready to lead our nation to greater heights through love and peace. .
             America was sent a man of determination and strength at a time of negative race relations in our world. Martin Luther King, Jr. brought hope to our society, that one day we would all be looked upon equal. Black Americans needed Martin Luther King, but above all America needed him.
