Sociology in Education

 

In this system all the individuals need to do their share of work to contribute to the well bieng of the whole system. Meaning that if an individual does not work together with the rest of the system, this will lead to negative change in the system. Durkheim (1858- 1917) for example acar is like a system all parts of the car need to all work together so the whole car can work. If it happens that one part of the car does not work it means that the car will not function well. For instance if the wheel of the car does not work the car will fail to move around. Which applies the same to society. If one person pulls to the opposite direction of the goal will not be reached.
             Durkheim (1858- 1915) Societies are socially active they do not belong to any individual. Collective conscience is when members belonging to the same society have the same ideals and sentiments. Solidarity is present when all members of society are linked together forming a lager group. Durham (1858- 1915) futher states that in the different types of societies the characteristics of solidarity change just as the main aim behind collective conscience. According to Durkhiem (1858-1915) there are two forms of society, each has it's form of solidarity.
             According to Durkheim ( 1858- 1915) there is mechanical solidarity which is a character of less developed societies. Which is based on similarities within the internal organization. There is little differenciation in the division of labour. Meaning that they share a common way of life and believe in the same thing. Which gives them a sense of belonging and collective power.
             Durkheim (1858-1917) futher explains that changes came within the society. There was a lot of division of labour which was brought on by industrialization and ubuanisation. Where people stated to devide labour. It is characterized by organic solidarity and occurs in developed societies. With organic solidarity comes more division of labour, meaning an increase in specialization, usage and development of special talents, which are not shared by all members of society.
