Information Gathering

Lack of transmitting information through employees can cause problems to arise. Information sharing in many work places play a major role on completing projects, which can lead to many limitations of tasks. The following examples can lead to such problems: (1) a Security Officer may began a shift and is not aware of any changes from the client, (2) a Report Coordinator needs to gather information from individuals from different departments and does not receive until after the deadline, (3) a Manager closes for the night and is not advised of any shortages or refunds, and (4) a United States Army Mobilization Specialist does not receive information quickly enough due to old computer systems.
Effective communication skills can benefit people in various fields and positions. Communication in the business world is imperative for success. This holds true for interpersonal communication, communication between management and staff, and for practically every other contact a business has, both within its own establishment and the outside world. Effective communication is critical for the success of any organization. Through the use of proper communication skills, individuals will be better able to function as a group, thus allowing organizations to share information, analyze situations, and to set goals. The more successfully a business functions, the better it enables employees to perform better jobs.
The importance of improving communication skills in the business environment cannot be overestimated. Business success very simply revolves around effective communication, both within a business and between representatives and others on the outside. Employers should develop ways to assess these skills and to provide appropriate training where necessary.
