Television and Movie Rating Systems

There are currently five different grades associated with the movie rating system. These ratings were derived to ensure that movies are age appropriate according to society. A movie rated 'G'" for general audience speaks for its self. It can be viewed by generally anyone. This rating became known in 1968 according to Motion Picture Association of America. There may be a thing or two in the movie that one may feel is inappropriate, this one thing could be something that the person next to you feels is completely appropriate. Then there the rating 'PG'" this movie suggest that there should be some Parental Guidance. This rating sends the message that a parent may want to view this before letting their child view it. It does not necessarily mean that there is negativity or the movie is derogatory but it might be according to the critics. .
This term became known in 1972 according to the Motion Picture Association. Serious parental discretion is advised there maybe some things in this film or show that is inappropriate for children under the age of 13. Parents may even want to view this film before allowing there 13 year old child to view this movie or show. This rating according to the Motion Picture Association was born in 1984. There is always that dreadful rated 'R' "film. These films are restricted for anyone under the age of 17 unless accompanied by a parent who if you ask me should not be allowed. There is a great deal of adult language nudity or some things of this nature involved in a film or show carrying this rating. According to MPAA this rating has been around since 1968. These films should be prohibited to anyone under the age of 17 proven with picture identity which is what the last rating 'NC-17'" suggests. I believe that 'R'" rated films and 'NC-17'" films and shows should be grouped under one rating. This rating which is the newest rating has been around since 1990 according to MPAA.
