Television and Movie Rating Systems

There is another rating that has not been approved by the MPAA that is the rating of 'NR' which means this film/show has not been rated as of yet but will be eventually.
             .
The rating system has changed just a bit over time. Some of these terms did not always exist some of the terms we actually a little confusing to parents for example there was a 'M' rating which meant that the movie had mature content well parents couldn't decide if this was age appropriate for their mature 15 year old or if this was indeed an 'R' rated film. .
             .
The three films that I chose to compare against the movie rating system are "Matilda" (PG), "Twilight" (PG-13), and "The Hangover" (R). .
"Matilda" was a really interesting movie about a little girl with magic powers who is belittled and cast out by her family. She is very smart girl unlike the rest of her family. She is also bullied by a principal at her school. I feel that the rating for this movie is appropriate although this child was treated unfair throughout the film it still showed children that they can still strive to be who they want to the despite their families views on life as well as what a bully may think. There was no physical violence or inappropriate language therefore again I feel that this rating is appropriate for such a film.
             .
The movie "Twilight" which is rated PG-13 is a movie about a love triangle involving a vampire and a werewolf and a human. In this movie the human falls in love with a vampire which is forbidden in their town the both the vampire and the human have to face and fight off a group of vampire that are number one against their union and secondly hard up for her blood. This movie I feel was not rated appropriately. There is gruesome physical violence and inappropriate actions in this film. There are people having their bodies ripped apart and I feel that actions such as these are inappropriate for children period. .
             .
The film "The Hangover" is 'R'" rated is about a group of men who go to Vegas for one of the men's last night as a free man.
