Statistics on State Responsibilities

There have always been many different opinions about state responsibilities and how far the state intervenes in everybody's life by taking care of their social needs. A recent online survey tried to find out how the population thinks about this issue by asking over six thousands adults from Britain, America, France and Germany.
Almost half of the questioned people, except the British, think that the government's approach to the workless is not tough enough while on the other side, 36 % of the British people, find the government too harsh to the workless. .
When the people were asked about their attitudes on top salaries the results show that only France and Germany have a clear decision. Over 60% of them find the salaries too high and only around 20 % of the questioned French and German citizens acceptable. When you ask British people, 47% of them prefer closing the gap between the rich and poor, because the top salaries of 300.000 pounds are definitely too high. 44 % of the US citizens accept those high salaries while 31 % of them think they are not justified. .
Comparing the results of all questioned people to the social responsibilities of the government the majority is in favor of doing social issues by helping poor children get ahead, getting a decent minimum income for all and redistribution across the income range. In all this three parts, only around 50% of the questioned Americans want the state to intervene in these social issues. .
In my opinion the state should strive to show more interest in the social need of its citizens. Everybody should have the same starting point in life, especially providing all children the same educational chances, regardless of their socio-economic background. The personal matter for every state should also be the financially support of the workless citizens and to help them finding their way to the job market.
All in all it is essential for every individual to take full responsibility for all his decisions and actions but life if not always fair and easy and sometimes little help and support can be very useful.
