My Love, My Home, My Mother

"Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly."-- Sarah Malin. .
It took twenty years, twenty-six days, and seventeen hours for me to realize what an extraordinary influence my mother has been in my life. I cannot begin to express the impact she had and will continue to have in my life in just words. She is not just my mother, but my world itself. My mother is the definition of strength, faith, and love. .
My mother has shown me true strength when she made the decision to come to America with just me and my brother. She comes from an ordinary family consisting of her parents, two brothers, and a sister. After many failed attempts, she finally agreed to marry my father. Not only did my father come from a wealthy family, but he was also a pilot; therefore, we had the luxury of living a fancy lifestyle. Like every parent, they wanted the best for us. They decided that studying abroad would benefit us in long term. .
Due to my father being a pilot and his airline company being based in Korea, he was not included in that plan. However, she still made the decision to leave her comfort zone and the luxurious life she once had to raise us all by herself in a foreign country. That, to me, is courage. She is the kind of superwoman who is strong enough to take care of two children without ever complaining how hard it is. She has gone through so much, but she always kept a good spirit about it all and has never once regretted the decision she has made years prior. .
While my mother has influenced me enough with her strength, my life has been equally changed by the amount of faith she has displayed towards me. One of the many greatest traits my mother possesses is the ability to never give up on her loved ones. I have let her down plenty of times in the earlier years of my life.
