1.1.2 Employee Disputes.
Clash among the staff and the lack of esteem to one another is a motivational issue that the business is undergoing. The night managers of the company receive the same pay as the regular employees and as a result the managers are not able to rebuke other employees. Due to this, the employees do not show the respect that the manager or the assistant managers did. The equity theory proposed by Jean Adams as cited in Latham, 2007, deals primarily with money and this theory applies as the pay rates have been the inconsistent reason for the conflict amongst the night managers and the employees. He further states that people examine the ratio of their "outcomes" such as money, recognition and working conditions with their "inputs" such as person's efforts and experience. Thus, the Company has applied an unfair payment system when it is supposed to have a fair distribution of salary system to its employees and this is the main reason for lack of respect and harmony in the business (Latham, 2007).
1.2 Organizational Culture.
1.2.1 Weak Managerial Culture.
Giovanni Pizzeria displays a very weak managerial culture as it lacks strict supervision of staff by managers. This hinders the effectiveness in productivity. Employees work is not supervised properly and as a result, the employees take advantage beyond the 6 hour benefits whenever Marcello or the assistant managers Marisa and Carolina are not available. Abzari, Labbaf, Atafar, Talebi, Moazami & Teimouri (2011) identify adaptability and consistency as features of organizational culture that are important to organizational effectiveness. Adaptability refers to the degree to which an organization has the ability to alter behaviour, structures and systems to maximize efficiency in the work environment. Consistency refers to the extent to which beliefs, values and expectations are held consistently by the employees.
