            Every hour, the sun beams onto earth more than enough energy to satisfy global energy needs for an entire year; and the sun's energy can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to cook food, heat and cool homes, warm water, and light buildings. Harnessing the sun's energy powers so many necessities of life and can expand into providing energy for every-day objects such as a television or even a toaster. Considering the condition the economy is currently in, the U.S. needs a renewable energy source to invest money and time in that will be highly beneficial. The most resourceful and qualified source is solar power. Solar power provides job opportunities, causes minimal impact to the environment, and is at an overall reasonable price.
             Using solar power will open thousands of doors to job offers to help with the production, resulting in increased working Americans. The solar power industry's "innovation engine" has resulted in the creation of tens of thousands of jobs in the last decade alone (Solar Power Begins to Shine). Jobs are a huge factor in building a strong economy and keeping people in a safe place. Solar panel production is just a small part of an overall industry that demands contributions from installation technicians, salespeople, battery-storage designers, and other key components (Five Benefits). Many spaces are needed to be filled with hard working, educated engineers. Investing money in this resource will open opportunities for many jobs and can help American citizens and the businesses that are hiring them. .
             Not only will solar power improve businesses, it does this with causing minimal damage to the environment. Carol Olson, a researcher at the Energy Research Center of the Netherlands, has a strong opinion based on facts regarding solar power. "PV electricity contributes 96 percent to 98 percent less greenhouse gases than electricity generated from 100 percent coal, " she says.
