Graduation Speech

Four years ago, most of us walked into the doors of a new, huge high school; young freshman, fighting with the locks on our lockers, trying to figure out where our next class was located, hoping the upperclassmen wouldn't be pointing us in the opposite direction. We began high school as children, but we're leaving as what we would like to call "adults"." From diapers to diplomas, we finally made it. Can you believe it? We are finally the ones who get to make the speeches, wear the caps and gowns, get our diplomas, and walk across the stage to move forward in the world. If you have learned anything in these four years, I hope it's that education should be for the exhilaration of learning, not for passing tests or meeting standards.
We stand here today on the precipice of the future. It's not a distant dream anymore. It begins here; It begins today. In this life you will be forced to make choices. Some will be good and some will not. Never the less you will have to live with the consequences of those choices. In that hour of decision, I pray you take time to think, use good judgement and make more correct choices than incorrect. I heard it once said "If it's going to be, it's up to me. "Wherever you go, whatever you do; Stay uncompromisable. Be yourself and love who you are because who you are is who we have grown to love.
We graduate with the weight of the world on our shoulders embracing our future filled with the endless possibilities of life. With faith, hope and love in a higher power we can accomplish great things. We've completed a basic education that will serve as the platform we use to launch ourselves into our futures. But alone you will not be able to accomplish all that life will demand of you. You will need the help of others. Relationships are the rungs, we will use to either climb up or down the ladder of life. Because of that I would like to thank some people for everything that they have done to help us get where we are now.
