Steve Jobs' Speech - Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish

On June 14, 2005, Steve Jobs delivered a very strong and powerful commencement speech to the graduating class at Stanford University. The purpose of the speech was to persuade the graduates about importance of being true to yourself, following your heart and intuition, and living authentically throughout your career. The central idea of all his speech was about finding a career based on personal passions. It is a great advice for people who is going to get out of familiar environment for something big, for a new world of difficulties, losses and wins, fails and falls. The speaker divided his speech into three stories about his life, such as "connecting the dots", "love and loss" and "death." .
In the first story, it is said that he was adopted and his parents promised his biological mother that he would go to college. He chose very expensive college, however then he decided to drop out this one and dropped in to calligraphy class. It seemed meaningless for that time, but 10 years later, he understood that it led to the first computer with beautiful typography. The point of this is that "you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future." In the second story, Steve Jobs said that he was devastated when he got fired. He actually found what he loved in his life. And even after quit he still loved what he did. The point is that the only way to do great work is love what you do, if you haven't found it, keep looking, don't settle.
In the third story, the narrator told about confronting the death. He was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors said, that this was a type of cancer that was incurable. For a day, he lived with his death sentence. However, later he had a biopsy, he had a surgery and he was fine for that moment. The point of this story is that people are not insured from death.
