Proper Eating Habits

Obesity affects the lives of millions of people in America every day. Not just adults, but people of all ages. Though in many cases, overweight and obesity can be a genetic problem or a lack in obtaining willpower, there is still much more to it than that. It has to do a lot with the way we think, feel, and act. Most overweight people consume more food than they even realize, and alongside that, they spend most of their days sitting around, in front of a computer, in a car, and on the couch, leaving little to no room for exercise. Another cause is the way we feel and in return handle emotions leading many people to eat out of spite and anger, or depression. Most people know what the definition of obesity is, but what most people don't know and really need to know is the cause of it. .
Physically speaking, obesity is caused by consuming more calories than the body needs most commonly by eating a diet high in fat and calories, living a sedentary lifestyle, or both. However, I find that hypocritical, in terms of genetics. All body types are going to be different. There are those that are small in structure, or that are bigger built. There are people that naturally keep off any extra weight, and some that struggle a little to maintain a well-fitting figure. For those reasons, we all respond differently to the types of food and how much of it we eat along with its lifestyle. However when it comes to knowing our body, many do tend to slack in that area and habitually ignore any signals our bodies give us. There are so many things people need to take into consideration such as knowing what our bodies respond well to and realizing how much less we actually need compared to what is usually eaten. Also what foods trigger our senses; Different foods affect different hunger triggers, like fast food or, better known to do so, Chinese food, may fill us fast, but the after cravings come much faster and are usually of the same type of unhealthy food.
