Many factors enable the program to be effective and successful, but the foundation is lays on the six guidelines listed above. At EYDS, providing a participative, employee-based leadership style will not only improve our productivity and morale of the employees, but it will also provide benefits to our customers. When our employees are productive and happy, the children they are caring for will also be happy. This will help to ensure that the parents are comfortable leaving their child in our care while they are away at work. .
At EYDS, our leaders strive to participate in the growth of the employees. Weather it is working with them one on one or just observing and providing input, our leaders feel that participative leadership is crucial to the success of our employees. .
There are many ways EYDS leaders orientate their focus towards employees. We offer incentives and activities that gear towards employee satisfaction. Every Friday after hours, we offer hors d'oeuvres. Once a month we announce "Employee of the Month"; that employee receives a day off with pay and a $100 gift certificate to a place of their choice. Every quarter we provide a lunchtime barbecue to the employees, parents, and child. We feel this is an informal setting for the parents, child, and staff to mingle and get to know each other better. .
One of the biggest events that we present to our staff is our annual Christmas Gala. This event is usually some place different each year and offers the employee an opportunity to dress up for a change. It is always a formal black and white affair and EYDS provides transportation to and from the event so that no one has to drive.
