So when you got paid after work you were actually being granted with more time to live and every time you bought something time was taken away from your life and they had a countdown on their wrist. I thought the movie was a great concept because it showed how valuable time really is. Another value I take pride in in my life is equality (pg 179). I am so thankful that I live in a country and time when everyone is treated equally and is rewarded with equal opportunity. I cannot imagine living in a time of segregation and I greatly value equality. The next thing I value in my life is privacy (pg. 180). I am so grateful to be able to have privacy and not have to be watched all the time. I always see magazines and on TV about famous people and how they are constantly being videotaped and having people take pictures of them all the time following them and I could not imagine living in that lifestyle and really value my privacy. I was also raised as an only child so I am very used to having privacy and my own space and it is something I really value. I believe what is worth dying for is my family and some of my closest friends. I have had such a huge support system in my life that I would do absolutely anything for them if it came down to it. I also think what is worth fighting for is our freedom and our rights. War seems to be constantly going on to help other countries freedom and help them improve their rights and I think it is definitely something that is worth fighting for and even dying for. .
3. CULTURAL PATTERNS.
A. In my life I practice Individualism (pg 185). I have always strongly believed in independence and was grown up with it being an only child and having parents that split when I was at a very young age. My mom has always been very independent and still to this day is not married or with a significant other. She has raised me to show me that you can do things alone and don't need to depend on anyone else but yourself.
