A Memorable and Tragic Event

What is a memorable event you may ask, a memorable event is an occurrence that is unforgettable. What comes to mind when you hear memorable event? It can be something you did for the first time or something that had happen to you for the first time. For me, hundreds of things come to mind, but the memorable event that comes to mind over all of them is the car accident I was in during my junior year of high school. Car accidents are one of more reoccurring things that happen to everyone and they all have different outcomes.
It was spring of my junior year of high school when the accident occurred. My mother and I were on our way home and we were jamming out to the radio, like we normally due after every week day. We had been on the road for about five minutes. Then next thing I hear is my mother telling me to hold on and I turned to see the car hit us on my side of our truck. The impact threw us to the median and it happened so fast that I couldn't believe what had happen. Still this day I can still hear the sound of the cars colliding and I can still feel my seat belt tighten around me right after. My mom wanted to check the damages caused by the accident, but her foot was in too much pain to move. I asked her if she wanted me to get off and check to see what the damage was since I felt fine, but when I tried to open my door it wouldn't open it was stuck, so my mom got off and I had to go through her side. .
After getting out of the truck and viewing the damage, you heard the sirens of the ambulance getting closer and close. The ambulance came and the paramedics checked my moms' foot. They told her it would be back to normal in a couple of days. They said with the amount of force she put on trying to break it caused her foot to swell up. They also checked me and said that all I had was some whip lash and that I couldn't go to school for a day incase anything else started to hurt. They also told us if we would have been a second slower or the old man in the other car had been a second faster, he would have hit my door.
