Angelina Jolie is a modern-day hero for three major reasons.
The first reason why it is believed that she is a true hero is because of all the work that she has done and put to help, save and lend a helping hand to poor countries and the dangers she had to go through so that she would be able to help them grow and help themselves and the generations to come to grow as well (Jessica Rosslee,2013). In the article "Angelina Jolie: Why She Won the Humanitarian Award,"" the author, Jessica Rossolee - discussed the reasons to why Jolie had won the humanitarian award. Angelina Jolie has helped more than 30 countries worldwide since 2001in so many ways, from food to shelter to money to refuges and education as well. After acting in a movie that was set in Cambodia, she witnessed the pain and hardships that the people in that country had to suffer from daily. She immediately contacted The UN refugee agency to get a better understanding of the situation that they are going through. After that, she started going on missions to help Cambodia and other countries who are going through the same hardships as well.
The second reason why it is believed she is a true hero is the effort she had put into helping these poor countries who have to live a harsh life on daily basis. Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt, started a fund, which donated more than one million US dollars to an organization called "Doctors without Borders"" which is an organization that aids about 60 countries -worldwide- who are going through any kind of medical struggle. Angelina Jolie also co-chairs the education partnership for children of conflict, which helps educate and teach children who are in poor countries and are in need of learning and be taught, so that their country would prosper. She has also risked her life to help those who are in need in countries throughout the world. She went to countries who are in civil wars and who have dangerous diseases spreading all around the globe, all just to help them and try to make them grow into peaceful countries which no longer have to suffer greatly because of the lack of resources, or water or medical attention or even education.
