She was very surprised to see that Maria had seen what they were trying to do. Since Maria was still oblivious to see that Jenny and the rest of her friends were trying to ditch her and she did not want them to be mad at Maria, since they were all the "popular" kids and Jenny was pretty much the leader of the crew. Jenny quickly said, "Maria, we were going to get something to eat and then come back and meet you at school." Maria felt bad for thinking that they would ditch her and did not want to start any trouble. Maria quickly agreed and apologized, but deep down inside Maria knew that something was going on since Jenny did not look Maria in the eyes and she can tell she was lying to her. .
Maria, Jenny and the rest of her friends started walking towards this abandoned forest area where it was isolated from everybody. Maria was confused because she did not know what they were going to do and what was going on. Maria kept on asking them, "What are we going to do here", but Jenny kept on ignoring her. They finally arrived at the deserted area and you could hear crickets since it was so quiet. They all sat down at this bench and it just felt like there was a elephant in the room because of the silence and it was awkward. The area was very creepy since no one was around. There was an alleyway that lead to another part of the area. Jenny started looking through her backpack and she took out a couple of plastic water bottles that had alcohol in them and started passing it to them. Maria did not know what to do with the bottle that Jenny had passed to her. Maria was confused because Jenny had just randomly took it out of her bag and passed it to her. Jenny then told everyone to start drinking. Everyone started drinking it without hesitance, but Maria was still sitting there and wasn't doing anything. Maria asked her what is inside the drink and Jenny told her that it was beer.
