            In, "The Managers Bookshelf," there were many great readings on leadership, management, teamwork and organizational changes. All of which shed light on a tough topic to teach, which is management, because you can read and hear new ways to manage people but in reality it's all about implementation. This is done differently by every person and sometime its done in a bad way. Looking now at The managers Bookshelf again, there was only one reading on bad leadership and I feel this is a very important reading because if you know how not to be a bad leader then the only other option is to be a good leader by default. It sounds easy but in truth it can never by that easy, so we will also have to know what a bad leader is and how that even happens. I will also back this up with I real world example of what I feel to be bad leadership, and what could have been done to change that bad leadership based on the other readings. .
             Barbara Kellerman gives us some good insight into what bad leadership is like, how it happens and why it matters. She tells us that there are two fundamental categories of bad leadership that exist-ineffective and unethical leadership. Ineffective leaders are generally judge ineffective because of the inappropriate means they use rather than the ends they follow. In other words an ineffective leader generally fails to employ this is what makes them a bad later. Unethical leadership occurs when the leader or people fail to distinguish between right and wrong. Ethical leaders put their followers needs before their own whereas unethical leaders do not. This idea of two categories seems to make sense as to how someone can be a bad leader to summarize her idea bad leaders are bad because they're either incompetent or corrupt not because they are inherently bad. A good leader on one situation by be a bad leader in another simply because they are inept in the new process in what has to be done.
