Challenges of Distance Learning

In today's world deadlines are shorter, employees are managing themselves and technology is transforming the nature and pace of education and work. Education plays a very significant role in making my life as complete and fulfilling as possible. Throughout my working career and educational path, I have experienced these changes and strongly believe that a degree will give me the necessary tools to be better understand today's fast-paced lifestyle. I was always determined to go to a university and graduate with a degree that fits my interest and skill level. Previously, I completed my Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) in the Saint Xavier Institution, and as a first-generation student I want to be the first in my family to take that extra step towards a higher education. .
My parents have always encouraged me to further my education so that I won't have to live a pay check to pay check life, the way they had too because of their lack of education. Together with my parents' encouragement and with the support of my teachers, mentors, relatives and friends, I believe that I have what it takes to be successful in university and become something more than what is expected of me as a first-generation student. The whole time in high school, I have struggled to maintain my results because of my dyslexia. Even though it takes me longer to understand most things than the average student, I made up my mind never to give up and have continued to work hard, persevere and take advantage of the resources available for me in order to progress through high school . .
I feel I am capable to continue my education in university because success to me means having courage, the determination and the will to become the person I believe I was meant to become. My parents have demonstrated to me never give up and never let the challenges and obstacles on life keep me from my goals and passion. There is a famous quote that says "success is to be measured not so much by the position one has reached in lifeas by the obstacles one has overcome while trying to succeed".
