Hunting with My Family

Ever since I was a small boy I have grown up around my family and their friends hunting in Idaho. All the time they would tell stories about their trips and they always ended in their successes or at least them having a blast. So with each fulfilled story I heard the more excited I got to hunt in Idaho as soon as I could. When I turned 9 my parents finally let me take hunters safety. The class lasted about 2 weeks and as soon as I passed it I was ready to hunt. A month after I actually drew a spring bear hunt in Washington and I got my bear the second weekend it was open. But that wasn't enough for me. I was so excited to start hunting in Idaho.
So when the Idaho deer season opened he promised to take me. When he bought his licensed I was so disappointed when he didn't buy mine but I didn't understand that you had to be twelve to hunt there. But when I finally understood that I decided I still wanted to go with him. And in the end I was very glad that I did. I hadn't and probably ever go on a more fun trip in my life. We ended up hunting Big Canyon. Each day we were out we saw really nice bucks and some pretty big bull elk. My Dad ended up taking a mule deer buck that scored 208. Unfortunately it was a six by six but was still a non-typical. But still that is nothing to complain about seeing as that was the biggest buck I had ever seen in my life. Being there for that with my Dad was an amazing experience and it just made me want to hunt Idaho even more.
When I finally turned twelve it was in December so I still had to wait basically a whole year before I could hunt. But as soon as Idaho's deer season opened my Dad and I were on it. I ended up taking the whole week off from school to camp and hunt with him at the Lochsa. We decided to go there because that's where my grandpa had always told stories about the massive deer and elk they've gotten and seen there. We rode our six wheeler in a ways with all of our gear to set up camp.
