The Civil War and the Future of America

 

            The era of 1800 is marked as a turning point in The US history as many important events took place in that time. The role played by the President Abraham Lincoln in that era is phenomenal and the changes brought by the dynamics of that era were cardinal. From the first peaceful transfer of power in the 1800 elections to the American civil war, the century determined the future course of US history in many ways. The issues faced by the US administration were huge but these were dealt with iron hands and these challenges were overcome by the diligence of then presidents, particularly Abraham Lincoln who united the North and South states which gave birth to the United States of America. In this essay we explore the era of 1800 and the relevant issues faced by the government and the way these were tackled. The essay will also explore the social and technological developments of that era. .
             Second topic that we discuss is the American Civil war which played the all-important role in the consciousness and political awakening. We can say that 1776 revolution had created the nation but the civil war consolidated the nation and gave it to a new shape. The civil war united the whole nation as one entity and the fall of slavery as an institution determined the liberal outlook of the nation that we see today[ CITATION Dor06 l 1033 ]. So we can say that the civil war brought important changes in the structure of the country and changed the perspective of the people about certain things. The American civil war ended the contention between the two sides and also ended the long rivalry which had intensified during the Lincoln era. The personality of Abraham Lincoln as a charismatic leader also came to lime light as he not only made the people aware of the deterioration that the slavery had caused to American society but he also swirled the blood of the troops fighting from his side. We see that the other leaders, who became the presidents in later years, could not show that much eloquence and charisma as Lincoln did and this is exactly the thing which differentiates him from others.
