Political Immigration Policies

Throughout the history of the United States, presidential policies have played a crucial role in the development of the country. With great power comes great responsibility; the president sometimes has to make the tough decisions when it comes to policy making because his or her decision can be very controversial leading to harsh criticisms. .
The president has the ability to make this tough decision because he or she has a cool deliberative sense of community. Every president from George Washington to Barrack Obama has had to deal with their fair share of making tough policies that were heavily criticized by the people, media, and opposing parties or factions but were for the greater good for the grand welfare of the country. Examples of these tough choices and decisions are Abraham Lincoln abolishing slavery, Woodrow Wilson trying to get the United States to join the League of Nations, and Harry Truman dropping the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima Japan. .
President Harry Truman strongly believed that it is very important to be able to understand history because history tends to repeat itself in one form or the other. A variety of issues from the past can be compared to the current issues that the country is currently facing. One example of these issues is the issue of mob violence, which can be seen during the time of Lincoln's presidency when he had to deal with the challenge of abolishing slavery and the hostile reaction by the south trying to defend their way of life. The current issue we can compare mob violence to is the recent events in Ferguson Missouri over the Michael Brown killing, and In New York over the Eric Garner incident or better known as the I can't breathe movement. Both these events have caused a massive stir throughout the country millions of Americans nationwide are protesting these heinous event where one teenage African American boy was killed and the other where one African American man was choked to death by a New York police officer even after the man was making a plea to the officer that he couldn't breathe.
