When Soldiers Come Home

Soldiers that fight for our country sadly are not noticed by some of the people who live outside of the war. In The Gettysburg Address, a famous speech written by Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln writes a speech to dedicate a cemetery for those soldiers who had died in war. The real heroes of the war are those men who never made it out alive and they who did not make it out deserve the right to be remembered. Like Lincoln said, "We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that nation might live." Many people might think that soldiers who come back are rich, but it does not work that way. Most soldiers that come back are left homeless for the reason that no jobs hire them because they think that they are not well skilled for the kinds of jobs offered outside of war. Soldiers are also left homeless because they do not have families to come back to and are on their own. Being homeless can lead a person to suffer from a mental or stress disorder because of nightmares that might come back from all the deaths that occurred in the war. Having nightmares can lead to create hallucinations that will drive a human being crazy. Soldiers sometimes end up committing suicide because they feel like nothing is left for them to do in this world. Suicide can also happen because a person feels lonely for a long period of time and they do not have anyone to get advice from. Most soldiers that come back with life sometimes do not feel happy about what they have done in battle. By reading The Gettysburg Address, having stressed and mental disorders, suicidal thoughts, and being homeless are big matters of the outcome of being a soldier.
When a soldier is fighting in a war, incredible and brutal violence occurs that sometimes their lives outside of war never go back to being like regular human lives anymore. An important mental disorder that a lot of soldiers get is called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
