It is estimated that 1,658,370 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 589,430 people will die from the disease. In fact, it is among the leading causes of death worldwide, with 14 million new cases diagnosed in 2012 alone, that number expected to rise to 22 million within the next two decades. The number of cancer related deaths is 171.2 per 100,000 men and women per year. Even with extensive treatment and today's advanced technology, many people fall victim and lose their lives to this very serious illness. Current treatments involve chemotherapy and radiation, which can do just as much harm to healthy cells and tissues as it does to cancerous cells. Side effects to this traditional treatment are also quite extensive and very harmful, not to mention very costly as well. Some people even choose to let their bodies alone fight the cancer because the thought of enduring this kind of treatment is just too much and very scary. Fortunately, there is another option available to help treat cancer that a few people have turned to. It has been shown that a chemical found in cannabis, often referred to as THC, actually slows the growth and/or causes death in certain types of cancer cells. It is used in the form of oil and patients of this method of treatment have begun coming forward and sharing their success. .
One such case is breast cancer survivor, Stefanie Larue, who was diagnosed in 2005 after being misdiagnosed by three different doctors. By the time she was thoroughly tested, the cancer had spread to her bones; she was given a year to live at most. Three weeks later, she began chemotherapy and after six rounds had surgery to remove the cancer, which ended up costing her all of her breast tissue. In 2013, they discovered her third reoccurrence of cancer, once again offering chemo. She researched and declined the treatment, instead following the Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) protocol until she was cancer free.
