I believe that science answers the questions that religion "asks", and religion answers the questions that science "asks". .
During the 16th and 17th centuries in the Catholic Church, bringing any type of knowledge about science to the church was against the law. Two scientists, Nicholas Copernicus and Galileo Galilei, both held the same theory that the Earth was revolving around the sun, but were punished because the church took the bible to literal that the Earth is at center. Both scientist published their books about the proven theory, but were banned and put to punishment. So around this time, religion and science were not able to be put together, and if you did then that meant that you went against God's Word. From sinning because of going against God's Word, you broke the law and would have to be punished for it. The Bible around that time was taken to the literal meaning, and everyone just kept their trust in it. Even as the world is today, people take the Bible literal and will not believe that anything that isn't in the bible is true. Such as a few family members that I have which only believe that God can heal them, and believe that there was no point of the creation of medicine to help cure sickness and diseases. Because of the strong faith that they had, and believing that only God could heal them – their health goes down heal. I am not saying that God can not heal because he can, he can do anything. He is all-powerful and all knowing. But there comes a time where a headache pops up and the pain gets worse because you won't pop a pill, or as instance someone is pregnant and won't go to see the doctor on regular basis because they want to be like the Virgin Mary and just deliver anywhere or when the time has come. No it does not make sense. If it was said to not use any herbs for the body in the bible, it would have been quoted all around the world, but it is not written anywhere.
