The artists and performers of the music industry incorporate teen's problems through their music and videos to relate more to their audience. In Something Corporate's music video "If U C Jordan," and Brittany Spears "Hit me baby one more time", many problems of today's generation are portrayed.
Time is of the essence; this speaks most true when you see the characters of these videos constantly focusing on the clock. This may tell us that they are less involved in their studies and more concerned with their rendezvous" outside of school. Many students are involved in extra activities out of school, and don't have time for school or learning; they are way too focused on doing other things than actually learning. Statistics found in a 1992 study of extracurricular activities that approximately 30.4% of high school students are involved in interscholastic team sports of some degree. The same study also noted that 20.3% of high school students were involved in interscholastic individual sports and 19.8% of students were surveyed as being in a school sponsored band or orchestra. With all of the extra curricular activities offered at high schools, it is a wonder that students have enough time to study at all. High school students also see the need to find part time jobs after school to help fund their transportation means, shopping habits and progression into college. Most teens spend as much time in school as they are involved with extracurricular activities or working. It's no wonder why time is crucial to teens today.
School uniforms are becoming more popular among public schools now days. In the music video they are both portraying the uniforms, but both in different fashions to show that they are still unique. Something Corporate wears a sloppier look while Brittany spices it up a little with the shirt tied, short skirt, and pretty pink fuzzes in hair, this is not only to be unique but maybe be cute in her own little way to show herself to the boys.
