The last type of patrolling we will talk about is Foot Patrols. Foot Patrols are a fantastic way to interact with the community. They give you more versatility to respond to calls when you are patrolling a small housing area. Interaction with the community is probably the most important feature of this type of patrolling. It gives the community of sense of security, and will help them break that barrier that a lot of people have when you mention the words Police Officer. The people will be more comfortable reporting crime to someone they know and talk to on a daily basis. .

I am from Old Saybrook, CT. A small town with a population of about 12,000 people, and a very low crime rate. In my opinion the most effective type of patrolling depends not only on events that are occurring, but also on the time of the day and the day of the week. I would say the most effective method of Patrolling would be Foot Patrols. Again, it is a small town, with everything centralized on what is known as Main St. Obviously you can't direct all your Patrolmen to be on foot the entire shift, but you can direct a handful to remain on Foot Patrol for the majority of the day shift. At night, this would not be as affective, due to all the shops being closed and nobody being on the street. Then as a Watch Commander running the night shift you would probably direct your personnel to conduct a preventive patrol. There is really no need to conduct Aggressive Patrol, and the crime rate is so low you probably wouldn't conduct Directed Patrolling either.
             QUESTION #2:.
GIVE YOUR OPINION ON RACIAL PROFILING AND JUSTIFY YOUR THINKING:.
             ANSWER #2:.
Racial profiling has obviously been a controversial topic in Law Enforcement for a substantial amount of time. No matter how controversial, in my opinion I think it works. You live in a town where most of the crime is being committed by a certain race, then why not profile that race.
