Human population growth

Before and during the 19th Century the world's population was growing steadily but it remained in a stable state. The 20th Century brought advancements in agriculture and technology, which caused dramatic increases in human population growth. These increases have continued through to the 21st Century and it has now been estimated that in the year 3040 there could be ten sextillion people which would leave each person with less than one square inch of their own. This, however, is quite unlikely because the greatest population that the earth could support comfortably is somewhere between nine and twelve billion. We already have a world population of six billion and are growing at approximately 260,000 people per day. The last site in my reference list illustrates this increase in population by keeping a live up-to-date world and U.S. population count. Anyways, the biggest question to the human population growth problem is when is it going to slow down. There are several factors that should decrease the population growth in the coming years, which include limited food supply, water, energy and natural resources. This increase of population growth will also undoubtedly result in pollution problems, which could lead to even more global warming. Most people place blame on third world countries for the human population growth. In many of these countries the woman are uneducated and are unaware of the population problems the world is facing. Third world woman try to have many children so that they can have more help for work and so that they can achieve a higher social status. In order to resolve the population growth problems there have been several short and long term solutions devised. These include educating woman, using birth control, setting up government control programs, providing foreign aid and distributing population and resources more evenly. One of the government control programs that have been suggested is the adoption of a "one child world.
