2) The need to identify with themselves about their sexual orientation, identity and role compared to their peers. 3) Preparation for productive citizenship. 4) Develop, maintain and sustain their own personal independence from guardian/parents. 5) Develop an adult identity. More than likely females won't begin to achieve these goals until the middle and late adolescents. Keeping in mind that adolescent is a period marked by biological maturity and psychological searching. Some of the effects from these stages could lead into partaking into sexual intercourse often with older men. The older man will fill some of the gaps that they are lacking from home, self and with peers. .
Due to the fact that the majority of these females yearn to become an adult mentally they tend to sway to develop a personal value system. While making these personal value systems they are not thinking rationally because they still possess an adolescent mentality. .
Not only are these young females have sexual intercourse; developing their own value system they are seeking warmth and reassurance through these acts. If they are rejected or have a desire of becoming a failure they may disassociate themselves from parent values and would lean toward drug and alcohol abuse. Also, a female during this stage will adopt a lifestyle believing casual sex is acceptable and not worth waiting for. I researched one adolescent female named Blanca who was 15 years of age who falls in the middle range. By the time she reached 16 she was the mother of two out of wedlock, still residing at home with parents continuing high school. She dealt with low self-esteem and depression. Her relationship with her parents weren't comfortable with her because she didn't have a voice for herself. Her parents helped her take care of her first child until she relapsed to dating a former boyfriend from the 8th grade. This young man was older than she was but had a motive different from hers.
