However this did not come without its positives as when Lucy was in her final year of high school she was excepted, on a scholarship to the most sought after and prestigious university, Oxford. .
Still staring at the beam of enchanting light, a tiny tear rolled slowly down Lucy's face as she remembered her father. How proud he would have been to see her at Oxford University and how different she would have felt leaving home if her father were still alive. But instead of feeling want of home and sadness for those she missed, Lucy felt no such feelings, no emotions for the life she left. Nothing seemed to affect her anymore.
Suddenly there was a sharp knocking at the door, Lucy sprang from where she had been sitting, startled as her mind was taken off her father and that ray of moon light. .
"Miss McPherson?!" the knocker announced.
Lucy steering her attention towards the door, gently turned the brass door handle and shivered from touching the cold metal. As the door slowly opened, Lucy examined the girl standing in front of her. She could not have been much older than Lucy, maybe a year or two. She was smartly dressed and had her blonde hair held gently back from her face with a pretty flower clip. She was clutching a neat pile of documents and a few small, thin text books. The girl had a huge smile on her face; one of those smiles that just had to be fake unless her life was absolutely perfect. Lucy could not help noticing this girl was extremely pretty and had a sweet, innocent look about her. She realized that this girl was the stereotypical A-grader with the perfect family, handsome and loyal boyfriend, the teachers favourite and the girl who all the other students set themselves upon. The girl that Lucy would have been if it hadn't been for her father's death.
"Well HELLO!" the girl exclaimed with extreme enthusiasm " Allow me to introduce myself, My name Stephanie Love and I have been assigned to look after you and show you around for your first few weeks here at Oxford! I"m just so mighty glad to have you here and I"m sure we"ll become the best of friends over the next few weeks!" .
