OB can help managers develop their people skills, become successful and make their organization competitive in today's business environment. OB offers meaningful insights to so many critical issues and challenges that are part of every management position. It can guide managers to select employees who not only have the ability, experience and motivation to perform, but also have values that align with the dominant values of the organization. .
The study can empower managers to create satisfied and committed employees and lower the rates of turnover and absenteeism. Motivation theories provide direction to managers concerned with motivating employees. "Recognize individual differences, match people to jobs, use goals, ensure that goals are perceived as attainable" (Robin 2001, Page 120) are all valuable suggestions for successful motivation strategy. Knowing that the employees" perception can influence their productivity more than the situation is critical. It is necessary to be able to access if workers perceive their jobs in negative terms and deal with the differences between their perception and the situation. .
OB studies provide recommendations from which organizational leaders can benefit when trying to introduce the shift from working alone to working on a team for their employees. To motivate them to cooperate with others, to share information, and confront differences, and to sublimate personal interest for the greater good of the team requires skills that are far from pure technical knowledge.
Communication.
"Probably the most frequently cited source of interpersonal conflicts is poor communication. No technical knowledge can substitute the effective communication skills a successful manager needs to possess"(Robin, 2001, Page 205).
Communication, in all its forms, affects overall effectiveness and success more than anything else. Within my organization, as within most, communication takes place via e-mail, telephone, and through face-to-face interaction.
