Many people think marijuana is a harmless drug, but some people who use marijuana regularly can become dependent and it may contribute to the use of other drugs. Marijuana can effect people's learning processes, motivation, and health. .
             Marijuana abuse has been shown to affect people's learning processes. An active ingredient called Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is founded in marijuana. This ingredient affects the nerves cells in the brain where memories are formed. THC makes it hard for people to make appropriate decisions, solve problems, and learn new skills. Marijuana may cause people to have trouble handling simple tasks, such as riding a bike. Marijuana can affect people's reaction time, they could be involved in auto accident or maybe involved in unsafe sexual behavior. Marijuana abuse can reduce people's abilities to perform tasks requiring concentration and coordination, such as driving a car. People may also find it hard to study under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana users also feel a lack of motivation.
             Lack of motivation is a common affect in marijuana abuse. Marijuana users tend to think negatively about themselves. Some people feel they cannot achieve anything in life. Many people use marijuana to deal with anxiety, anger, depression, and boredom, however, marijuana may only enhance their problems. Marijuana users may have a lack of concern about how they look or how they portray themselves in public. Marijuana users may perform poorly in school or even at work. Health problems are another effect that marijuana have on a person.
             Using marijuana regularly can have the same affects that tobacco has on a person. Someone who smokes five joints a week may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a pack of cigarettes every day.
