Equality of our government

In the history of our world there has always been discrimination of an ethnic group or certain gender. Women and have all too often been one of the main category discriminated against and thought of as the minority. Although today where I live there is a lot more equality between men and women, there are still those who see women as frail and weak opposed to the outgoing and determined people they are. The article "Ain't I a Woman?" by Sojourner Truth shows a prime example of how men use to view white women. The laws of today have made it possible for women to have and succeed in their dreams and reach their potential. .
The laws have improved so much over the years to enhance equality of all people. Everybody has equal rights now and even women are involved with government now. The United States government has evolved to be one of the most fair in the world. There is not a better place to live for women. Women are often superior to men now as opposed to being the minority in the past. I believe that the United States has a very fair government even though there are those people with their views of the past who don't care for equality. There are still very racist and opinionated people that believe a women's place is in the home. The moral values of fairness in our government are very equal. It has evolved to give everybody the same chance to succeed and learn with same amount of respect.
In the past years women have become valued as people and not just as the less important person without an opinion. For many years however women struggled to be considered equal to men. In the past women weren't really given a chance to voice their opinion. It has always had to be what their husbands thought and the wives of coarse had to stand by their men. Women were treated as unequal and weak. "That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages and lifted over ditches.
