             The two plays The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark and The Glass Menagerie they have a lot in common but yet they are both different. Tennessee Williams' play, The Glass Menagerie is considered a memory play because it is told from the memory of the narrator. The Glass Menagerie it was written during The Great Depression and it takes place in a cramped apartment similar to a jail cell in St. Louis. The family that occupies the apartment is not wealthy and the members of the family all want to be somewhere else. Each character attempts to escape the real world by creating their own reality. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark was written by William Shakespeare in 1604 during The English Renaissance. Hamlet is set in Denmark, but it was written for an English audience and it is one of the best pieces of literature around the world. .
             Hamlet is a man of many different qualities and he reveals only certain qualities to certain people. Hamlet's father died and he shut his door to his mind. Hamlet is very much obsessed with grief of his father's death and the marriage of his mother and his uncle. He was very upset with the hasty marriage of his mother and uncle especially when it has not been more than two months since his father died. He loved his father very much so that led him to lose his mind and it trapped him into the world of hatred and anger against women. His mother's marriage to his uncle tarred him into pieces. .
