Media Violence

 

The increasing demand of comics, the wide use of the Internet, and viewing television and pornography are the main forms of media, which have caused people's minds to act in violence.
             First of all, comics play an important role in the promotion of media violence. The comics were commonly criticized. They were full of brutal violence, terrible obsession with death and lustful representations of women. Comics portrayed violence in a good way in the eyes of society. Nothing seems to be entirely sacred, but instead everything was corrupt. For a nave person, whatever the comics contained was considered normal and it infected society. When a person reads "Batman- and sees that he throws a punch at the villain, he or she has already absorbed Batman's heroic acts in his system. Comics are also written in informal and sometimes vulgar language, which the reader may find amusing and "cool- to use. Therefore, since the reader believes the comics, he or she tends to shape his or her attitude as a character in the comic ¼violent and vulgar actions. Once, a girl, who actually believed in Superman, jumped off the Grand Canyon thinking that Superman would save her. Comics come with illustrations that consist of violent acts that make comics even more believable. The reader tends to confuse reality from fantasy, and without knowing it, they depend on characters of their hero in time of need, when the only person that can solve the problem is himself or herself. They lack independence and confidence. Furthermore, satire comics have the tendency to send the wrong messages to the public. Political figures use comics to ensure their success in the elections. By this, they are hoping to gain extra support from the public. This also causes conflict as the satire most probably affects and insults the opposition, resulting in violence. .

             Comic prints only contributes in desensitizing the human's mind, the Internet, a growing form of media, influences greatly to media violence in today's society.
