            Compare and Contrast: Daisy and Zelda.
             As Daisy being based on Fitzgerald's wife, Zelda, let both contrast and compare on their beginnings Daisy was a beautiful woman form Louisville, Kentucky. She is Nick's cousin and the object of Gatsby's love. As a young flashy woman in Louisville, Daisy was extremely popular among the military men stationed near her house, one which was Gatsby. Gatsby lied about his background to Daisy, saying that he is a wealthy guy to please her to accept him to be worthy of her. Eventually, Gatsby won Daisy's heart, and they made love before Gatsby left to fight in the war. Daisy promised to wait for Gatsby, but instead she chose to marry Tom, A young man from a solid, good family who could promise the world to her.
             In Comparison, Scott Fitzgerald met Zelda, who was to become his wife and the most important influence on his life. Zelda was young and a combo of tomboy and Southern belle. She was used to having her own way. Like Daisy, Zelda is in love with money, ease, and material luxury. As well as Daisy like to be. She very much enjoyed being popular by the officers from Camp Sheridan, just as Daisy was popular by the young officers at Camp Taylor. It was love at first sight. Just as Gatsby, a poor guy and no respected family, falls deeply in love with Daisy, so the Midwestern man Scott Fitzgerald fell head over heels in love with Montgomery belle Zelda. He proposed to her, and she turned him down. Like Gatsby, he was too young and he had no money, and she could not be sure he was worth anything. So he went off to war but, unlike Gatsby, he never got to Europe. Basically, as an icon of the Jazz Age, both Daisy and Zelda struggled against their traditional upbringing and its social crazed to create a new life not just for themselves, but for all American women to read and hear.
