Gone with the wind

 

            "Gone With The Wind" is a tragic love story involving the main character Scarlet and the man that loves her, Rhett. The story takes place in the south during which time the civil war is breaking out. Scarlet is a beautiful girl whom all the men go for. Scarlet is blindly in love with one man Ashley. The only thing about loving him is that he is engaged to her friend Melanie. Scarlet confesses her love to Ashley who responds by saying he loves her back but that he must marry Melanie. Scarlet is infuriated and marries the first man to ask her. Scarlet's husband ends up going to war and is killed during battle. Scarlet is now a widower and goes to Atlanta with her mother. .
             Scarlet barely mourns the loss of her husband and is introduced to Rhett. Rhett is a ladies man who does not believe in marriage. Rhett falls madly in love with Scarlet who refuses to acknowledge it because she is still in love with Ashley. Eventually the war heads south and people are going off to battle including Ashley. Ashley asks Scarlet to take care of Melanie while he is at war and still claims he is in love with Scarlet. Ashley goes off to war leaving Melanie pregnant and Scarlet to take care of her.
             Things start getting worse in the south and Scarlet is working as a nurse for the army. She is sick of seeing people dying and wants to go home to her father's farm. The only problem with leaving is that Melanie is pregnant and sick. Scarlet waits until Melanie has her baby and then Rhett helps her get away from the devastation in Atlanta. Rhett confesses he loves Scarlet but she does not care, she loves Ashley. Scarlet makes it back to her father's plantation, and is horrified. Her mother is dead her father is crazy and they have no money. Scarlet pushes herself to get back on their feet.
             Eventually they make money again. Scarlet and Rhett actually end up getting married. Scarlet still thinks she is in love with Ashley.
