Kip Kinkel

Examination of a teen killer- Kip Kinkel.
Every Year we hear about a school shooting, and every year it's the same story a tormented teen takes out his anger, frustrations and pain out on his fellow students, teacher's and sometimes even their own parents. In the next few paragraphs I will examine Kip Kinkel's actions through Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology and finally my own personal thought. I will also have statements in his own words from his journal.
Kip Kinkel at a young age had psychological problems. Most of them started when he and his family went to live in Spain for a year. Kip being in the 1st grade and just learning English and being able to speak in English, was faced with a huge problem when his teacher could only speak Spanish, a language he couldn't understand. The frustration that came from that experience and the never-ending frustration of trying to live up to the Kinkel name was too much for him. Kip had the perfect family however in his mind he didn't fit because he wasn't the perfect son, his sister was smart, athletic, popular and well known by their community, his parents were legends in their field of career's as teachers. That left Kip feeling down and depressed all the time, even to the point that he hated himself, the following is from his journal.
"I have just killed my parents! I don't know what is happening. I love my mom and dad so much. I just got two felonies on my record. My parents can't take that! It would destroy them. The embarrassment would be too much for them. They couldn't live with themselves. I'm so sorry. I am a horrible son. I wish I had been aborted. I destroy everything I touch. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I didn't deserve them. They were wonderful people. It's not their fault or the fault of any person, organization, or television show. My head just doesn't work right. God damn these VOICES inside my head. I want to die. I want to be gone. But I have to kill people.
