Teachings of Jesus

Nearly all we know about the ministry of Jesus Christ is found in the gospels of Mark, Luke, Mathew and John. These gospels existed only as tradition in Christianity until they were finally recorded to paper. With the faded first hand experiences that people had with Jesus it became very important to record these swirling thoughts. So in 70 AD Mark's gospel was recorded and acted as a guideline for the other three gospels written shortly after.              According to the gospel of Mark 4:33-34; with many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them (the crowds that followed Him), as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything. Why would Jesus speak only in parable? In the gospel of Mark 4:10-12 Jesus himself explains saying "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, "'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'" It mostly seems that Jesus spoke in parable so only the pure of heart that were receptive to his teachings could understand them.
