He gathered everyone up to tell them that there were no adults on the island. So they had to come up with ways to keep everyone organized. They also remembered the pig that they found in the woods decide they need to have people hunting for meet. Ralph also decides that the conch shell with determine who has the right to speak, who ever holds it can talk. Piggy starts saying that no one knows they are out there and are going to be stranded for a long time and one of the younger boys told the group that he saw a " snake beast" and they scared the whole group. Ralph and Jack had to calm everyone down and tell the group the beast was from the boys dreams.
Ralph comes up with and idea of building a large signal fire on the top of the mountain, so they all run to the top and build a fire. they use the lens from piggys glasses to light it. the fire only lasted for a few seconds and went out. So a group of hunters are put in charge to keep it lit and they end up lighting a bunch of trees on fire. in the craziness of the trees catching fire Piggy tells them that the boy who was talking about the snake is missing, and they just go one as if nothing is wrong.
Chapter 3.
Ralph and Simon were trying to set up huts for the boys to live in and was getting very irritated because the kept falling down. He was also irritated because him and Simon are pretty much the only ones doing work, all the other boys are just playing around. and he is also irritated that Jacks hunters failed to kill and single pig. Ralph is worried about the smaller boys who have been having nightmares, and he tells jack but he won't help him he's to much into thinking about hunting down the pigs. Ralph confronts jack and tells him that him and his hunters are using hunting as a way to get out of all the real work. Jack says well the boys want meant and they fight for a while about it until they are very mad at each other. They go swimming together in the lagoon but their feelings towards each other don't change.
