Tragedy Taught a Lesson

My friend and I grew up together; he was my companion, my best friend, and my brother. So, you can imagine how it came as a big shock to me when I heard what had happened to him. As if I had been in a bad dream and there was no way of awaking.
Until today no one has a clue as to what actually happened. From my point of view this is how I felt everything had gone. It was a very strange night. My best friend had always been very cautious about going out at this time of night, but he did it anyway.
A group of guys had invited him to the park to have a drink and just "kick it."" Being very nave and always trying to fit in, he gave up rather quickly and said "yes,"" (not knowing that it would change his life and the lives of people who loved him forever.) As the sun set that night he got himself ready and acted as though he was not going to do anything that was completely against his morals. Then before he knew it the sun was down. He snuck out and headed to the park unaware of what was in store for him. When he arrived everyone was standing around passing something small yet visible to each other. Not having any clues what so ever, he took the object and stuck it in his mouth. That is when it all started, he felt as if he were floating, as if gravity was no longer a part of the law of physics. He then started drinking heavily and trying to blend in with the crowd. He watched as everyone's face went from one piece to millions of floating pieces. That is when I figured he started to go numb, and slowly lost his consciousness.
Sadly, he would never wake up again. My friend had taken a pill called acid and mixed it with all kinds of alcohol. Not knowing what had happened to him or what is happening now, he just lays there.
If you have not figured it out yet, my friend is in a coma, lying in his bed at home unaware of his surroundings. That night I not only lost my best friend, I learned a very valuable lesson in life: by just being myself I can be anything.
