Wal-Marts being built in small towns across America is making small business owners and protestors angry because of what the store does to the community. For instance, a large department store (Wal-Mart) moves into your town and gives you a variety of products to shop for in a one place. Of course your going to shop there, because you can get what you need in one place and then leave, instead of having to drive all around town to get the things you need. This is what makes the small business owners mad. Wal-Mart and other big box stores come in and suck up all the business leaving them with nothing. This then creates a community of unemployment and also bankruptcy. This happens because the small business owners go out of business and need to find a new job. They can go to the new Wal-Mart and find a job there but your not going to be able to afford anything because of the wages you will earn. Therefore this is why Wal-Marts that are being built in small communities across America is making small business owners and protestors mad.
The business owners prove very good points about how the store can put them out of business or just take away business. It is because Wal-Mart has a variety of products at a very low rate and the business owners cannot afford to go that low with their prices. Wal-Mart, on the other hand can. They have thousands of stores across America and can afford to lower their prices to a very convenient price for the consumer because they have so much money and order their products in bulk so they pay less. Unlike a small business owner if they would buy in bulk and don't sell the products they are out all that money they spent on products, therefore they have higher prices. The consumer wants to go where the lower price is and where they can find everything they want. Sure Wal-Mart doesn't sound bad to the consumer but it's a business owner's nightmare.
