ENDLESS DISCRIMINATION AT WORKPLACE

Women are comprising 2/3 of new entrants into the workforce compared to 15% of new white male entrants. .
However, the statistics show that follows through up the executive ladder is lacking. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 40 years after the civil rights movement, African Americans still only hold 8.2 percent of executive slots and Hispanics hold just 5 percent of top positions. Women comprise just 12.5 percent of corporate officers and represent just 4.1 percent of all top earners. And for minority women, the situation is worse: the percentage of women of color in senior jobs was only 1.3 percent as reported by Catalyst Research. Women still face the challenge of the "wage gap", earning 76 cents for every dollar a white man earns. African American women earned 65 cents and Latinas, 55 cents. These are sad figures and the worst is that these figures more or less reflect the situation in the most of the countries all over the world.
Lets have a look at Article called " Age and Sex Discrimination in the Workplace". In this article the author describes the story of female Manager who discriminated "young males" when hiring. Surprisingly, many people do not complain or take the discriminator to court simply because "people just don't want to get involved". That means that discrimination not only exists, but also is hidden and hard to fight with. Regardless of any legal guidelines that have been established to promote more open and progressive attitudes and approaches towards the hiring process in the traditional work world, there are still some age factors that continue to affect employers when hiring. Employers do not want to hire young people and especially if they have no previous work experience due to different false believes of what are the disadvantages of young employees. On the other hand there are employers who think they can eliminate older workers from their workforce and save costs of retirement programs, and higher salaries.
