The Western Frontier - Railroads.

 

            The railroads promoted the settlement in the west in many ays. It gave easy shipping, transportations, and provided work for those in the west. If not for the railroads, teh frontier would have probably lasted longer. .
             Farmres and cattle herders had esy shipping through the railroads. They shipped crops and cattle at a higher price, but with a quicker shipping time. Farmers got equipment and supplies including seeds ent to them right on the railroads. Silver, Gold, and other metals were brought east on the railroads for easy money gains bye the railroad. .
             The railroads had a good transportation system. It carried people from point A to point B in a quick fashion. It was a chep way to go west for all the opportunities.
             The railroads owned a lot of land; more than they needed. In return they sold cheap strips of land around the tracks. Sometimes big companies would buy the strips of land for advertisements. Oter times people bought the land and settled on it showing the life of a plains family.
             The railroads also provided work for jobless people in the west. They needed train conducters, coal shovelers car attendants, repairmen, and other various jobs. People would move west to get jobs with the railroad companies. .
             Since all the transporting was going on, the frontier began to increase populations. Te lands in the west were becoming settled ad the frontier began to disappear. All of this happened because the railroads. The railroads played an extreme part in the economic developement of the western frontier.
