In adoring God, I will gratify him, and in doing this I will open a window of unadulterated happiness for myself as well. .
The Prayer of Thanksgiving is a form of prayer which makes it possible for us to express our gratitude to our Lord for all of his unselfish generosities. Thanksgiving is often portrayed as the prayer of the Church, which in celebrating the Eucharist, reveals and becomes more of what she truly is (Part Four: Thanksgiving). In performing the Prayer of Thanksgiving, men and women alike are given the opportunity to whole heartedly thank God for blessings such as family, friends and life itself. Of all the creations that God ever created, life is by far the most important. Life is the spiritual and mental source of our existence; a battery which has enabled us to grow, experience and create inventions that have bettered the earth and our society. This prayer also allows us to show appreciation for our salvation from sin and the everlasting hope of attaining heaven; a haven of eternal happiness and joy. And most importantly, Thanksgiving permits us to thank God for his everlasting patience with our blunders and our falls. The Prayer of Thanksgiving has aided me in my understanding of prayer in that I now realize how much I take for granted. Although my previous neglects of thanks were not intentional and committed unconsciously, I now realize just how much I have to be grateful for. In reviewing this prayer I have now come to realize that events and objects that I had previously viewed as insignificant now possess a greater importance. .
The Prayer of Repentance is a prayer which enables sinners to find much needed forgiveness from God. Sin is an everlasting conflict and is the one obstacle which constantly separates man from God (the source of all goodness, life and joy). In order for an individual to escape from the clutches of sin and earn God's forgiveness he or she must repent and reject it.
