Possible Effects of Fantasy in an Adult's Life

The concept of "fantasy" has the capability of shaping our minds. Before beginning it is necessary to define the term of fantasy for a better understanding. Actually fantasy's core elements are the fairytales. Without the meaning of fairytales we can not have a chance to talk about "fantasy". From the essay of J.R.R. Tolkien, fairies are:.
"supernatural beings of diminutive size, in popular belief supposed to possess magical powers and to have great influence for good or evil over the affairs of man" (J.R.R. Tolkien, On Fairy Tales, 1964).
This is a general explanation of fairies. At this stage it is not necessary to put all of our attention onto this subject. What is have to be discussed are the possible unforeseen issues of fairytales. The possible dangerous effect of the concept of fantasy is that it can affect an adult's life from the beginning of that human's childhood. Total audience of fairytales is generally the children. This can be understood from the following example of statement:.
"It is much easier to communicate with them-children- through an imaginary word that simply exemplifies the problems of real life.
. the world and its people are not described directly but through symbols and indirect methods. The troubles of real life become translated into battles with fierce dragons and monsters and those who succeed in life are the high born aristocrats."(Bilkent University ENG 102 "The Good, the Bad and the Wicked" Course Book, Why Study Fairy Tales, 2003).
             From J.R.R. Tolkien's essay:.
"It is true that in recent times fairy-stories have usually been written or adapted for children" (J.R.R. Tolkien, On Fairy Tales, 1964).
Keep in mind that, children are not capable of distinguishing the good and bad. This situation creates a wide responsibility for today's adults. Directing the future adults wrongly can easily create a next generation which can not overcome the problems entire their life. Again from J.
