After school programs

I am sure that many children go home after school to an empty house. But still many are home alone by themselves. Do you ever wonder what after school programs are available so your child doesn't have to be home alone?.
"It is estimated that as many as even to fifteen million school-age children leave school for an empty home on any given day." Those children have a much greater risks of getting into or doing bad things. They may display behavior problems. Start using drugs. They might even get bad grades. Some might even join a gang or just do crimes in their neighborhood. So as you can see children that stay home alone have much greater risks of all those things.
"In general, though after school programs can be said to create a safe, healthy, and stimulating place for school-age children and youth- Children can earn skills that would help them academically. They can get home work help if they were having trouble in homework. If your child likes to play sports or any other physical activities they have sports and recreation activities. They will develop new interest such as art, theater, music, technology and etc. They have cultural activities. They have college and job preparation for high school and middle school students. So not only do they help prepare your child for the future but they can help children for what they need right now.
"Are kids being "over-schedule"?" Yes, there should be after school programs but too many activities can be a problem for kids. Kids won't get much time to be kids if they have too many activities. Many kids would get stressed by not having any free time to them selves by having all these activities.
After school programs help our children become stronger both mentally and physically. I mentioned early most kids go home to an empty home and they would most likely be involved in bad things. Kids also develop and learn new skills to help them in academic achievement.
