Sympathy For the Devil

"Hello everyone, and welcome back to B. (Black Entertainment Television), the channel specifically made for black people." Is this right? How can people make a television channel just for their own race? Well, in many ways segregating one race from others is a very normal thing. Look at an old sitcom made before the affirmative action law was put into place (the Affirmative Action Law stated that perspective employees, no matter what race, color, sex, creed or national origin could be discriminated when applying for a job) in 1965 to help minorities receive more jobs and better pay (Pioneer 1). Before the affirmative action law was put into place, on television there were only Caucasian actors and news anchors. Also before the Affirmative Action Law, schools were segregated between Caucasians and other minorities, minorities made up most of the lower class, and most every employer, whether they admitted it or not would hire a Caucasian instead a minority, no matter what the credentials; which was completely out of line. So if anything, by being oppressed in almost every aspect of there lives, minorities almost have the right to be racist towards Caucasians. But does that make it correct?.
Racism surrounds everyone, just as it has surrounded all minorities since our nation's existence. But now there is a new type of racism, one that is unusual, yet practical. Reverse racism is this type. Reverse racism is directed from minorities ultimately towards Caucasians. Since this country was created, minorities have been beaten, spit on, and treated as if they were nothing. Slavery was as common as football on Sundays in the fall, before it was abolished. Everyone knew about it, but few cared except for the slaves, who were real people, with real thoughts and feelings inside.
Finally, slavery was abolished, but this change did very little. Minorities were still looked upon as unequal to the most of the Caucasian race, and by the early 1960's racism had reached its tipping point.
