             The video calledThe flappers? had to deal with the flappers in the 1900's. Flappers are women who wanted more rights and freedom than what they were getting. Women in 1920 got the right to vote due to the nineteenth amendment. This was a big step for women even though over half of the women didn't even want or care to vote. Women during this time period started working in factories, offices, nursing, and others. Women also joined the navy and the marines to help protect the country. .
             Women started to smoke in the public areas. This was very unusual because that wasn't a proper thing to do at the time period. Women would also start to show there skin, the skirts got higher, the dresses got thinner, the tops got smaller and it started off as ankles showing then it became part of the legs and then it went all the way up to the knees. Some young women didn't want to wear girdles because there boyfriends likes the feel of them with out the girdles. The rich and fancy women didn't do this kind of stuff because it was unacceptable. The women didn't only change the way the cloth was cut they also cut there hair so it wasn't long they cut it short and thinned it out.
             They women weren't big drinkers to begin with but since the start of the prohibition the women thought is was a dare that they could play on each other to see who could drink the most without getting caught. Women would become usual at the speakeasies because they didn't want to do what everyone else was doing they wanted to drink and go against the laws. .
             More sexual conduct was happening with the women in the movies and in public areas. In the movies there would be more kissing than they ever had. There would be more touching and hugging. The cloth would show the legs and arms and the neck which was very unusual before. In Public the women would show there affection to there mates more often. They would hug, kiss, and show off more skin than the usual women would have.
